london to cambridge again
And so another year
comes, and so too another challenge.
2007 was a massive
achievement with the London to Cambridge Cycle Ride, with so many people
taking part. The team spirit, the sheer effort and the feeling of success
was overwhelming, but it does have to be said that organising a group this
size was a nightmare, and the sheer effort and cost of getting almost 60
people entered into the ride, getting bicycles, uniforms, helmets etc was
very, very demanding.
So the challenge for
2008 was less but more !
Four years running
we've done the London to Cambridge Cycle Ride, and every year we've
encouraged new and different people to take part - 2008 is no different.
Keeping the numbers
down has meant fewer new names, but what quality has joined The Red
Pouches this year ? New in is Peter Reynolds, doing the route on a tandem
with his son. Peter (Willy) Ford is another addition to the team, and
keenest of all to rekindle his past association with a PO bike is Alec
Pybus, the new General Manager for Royal Mail in East Anglia.
Sunday 27 July 2008 -
50 miles in the saddle in aid of local charities, but somewhere along the
route, 50 miles became 60, and somebody forgot to tell us !
